Catherine Anne
Catherine Anne O'Hara, OC was born on March 4, 1954. She is a comedian from Canada, actress, and writer. O'Hara has received a variety of awards including the Genie Award, a Golden Globe Award and two Screen Actors Guild Awards. In addition, she was awarded two Primetime Emmy Awards and six Canadian Screen Awards. She was made as an Officer of the Order of Canada in 2018 and was awarded the Governor General's Performing Arts Lifetime Artistic Achievement Award in 2020. She first came to the attention of an actor in the year 1974 as a member of The Second City improvisational comedy troupe in Toronto. Together with John Candy, O'Hara was part of the main cast for the sitcom Coming Up Rosie (1975-1978). O'Hara joined Candy on the sketch comedy show Second City Television (1976-1984). She won praise from critics for both her writing and acting skills and was honored with a Primetime Emmy Award, 1981 for Outstanding Writing in a Variety Series. O'Hara was appointed to the Second City artistic advisory panel in 2022 by Stephen Colbert.
