Jennifer Rene Psaki
Jennifer Rene Psaki (American political advisor) was the 34th White House secretary. She held the post from 2021 until 2022. A member of Democratic Party, Psaki was previously the White House deputy secretary (2009), White House deputy communication director (2009-2011) and spokesperson for United States Department of State 2013-2015 and White House communications Director (2015-2017). Psaki was an election contributor to CNN between 2017-2020. Psaki began her career as an Iowa Democratic senator, Tom Harkin, and was later elected governor of Iowa. Psaki was then named as the deputy press secretary for John Kerry's 2004 presidential campaign. From 2005 until the year 2006, Psaki served as communications director to U.S. representative Joseph Crowley as well as the regional press secretary of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. Psaki was appointed press secretary for President Obama's election campaign. 20 years ago, Psaki was named spokesperson for the United States Department of State in February 2013. Her appointment in the Department of State fueled speculation that she would succeed White House Press Secretary Jay Carney when he left the White House. However on May 30 in 2014, it was announced that Josh Earnest would replace Carney. The White House welcomed her back to the White House in 2015 as the director of communications, and she remained until the closing of the Obama presidency.
